Race Day Information
Please read the safety notice in particular, below.
Race HQ: The Race HQ will be at Mount Ephraim Gardens.
Late entries and numbers can be collected from a clearly marked stall
by the car park in Mount Ephraim Gardens. Results envelopes can also
be left there. The race's UK Athletics Licence will be displayed at
HQ.
Changing &
toilets: Changing and toilets
will be provided at Mount Ephraim. Toilets are to the left of the main
House and will be clearly marked and will be available from 9:30am.
Changing facilities will be available in a marquee at the rear of the
house. Any items are left at the risk of the owner. Please vacate the
changing area by 1:30pm.
The start and
the race: The start will be
in the main field at the rear of Mount Ephraim House. The race will
start promptly at 11am and will be run under UK Athletics rules. The
course comprises a single lap around the field, progress along a farm
road and then join Church Hill road leading into Hernhill. There will
be a drinks station near the 5km mark. Please follow any instructions
by marshals or the police but otherwise keep to the left-hand side of
the road.
The finish: The finish is in Mount Ephraim Gardens. Please
continue through the finishing funnel without delay. There will be mementos
for all finishers and some lucky finishers will receive spot prizes.
Refreshments will be available at the front of the house.
Dropping out
and first aid: If you are not
feeling well during the run, please stop and wait for the sweep vehicle
that follows the last runner which will pick you up. St John Ambulance
Brigade will be providing first aid cover at the event.
Race director: The Race Director is Tim Richardson-Perks.
The course: The course is a circular, single-lap
one that goes via Hernhill, Fostall, Dargate, Boughton and Staplestreet
and contains some very scenic Kent countryside. Please keep to the left of the road when running
unless otherwise instructed by the marshals.

Safety notice
NB Your taking part in this event will be taken as confirmation that
you have read this notice.
- Competitors should not be
accompanied by either dogs or cyclists. By the nature of the course,
the race organisers consider that it is not appropriate for participants
in wheelchairs/similar vehicles to take part.
- Please listen to all of
the public address announcements. Important information relating to
your health and safety will be communicated by this means.
- The course will be marshalled
by members/people designated by Canterbury Harriers. They will be wearing
yellow marshal bibs. Please listen and act on any instructions given
to you by these race marshals or by the Police.
- Initially the course covers
a number of quiet, narrow country lanes. Consequently, please take care
in these potentially congested sections.
- In the later sections there
are roads where there may be some light traffic. Consequently, please
keep to the left hand side of these roads, unless you are instructed
otherwise by a designated race marshal.
